NHMLA is a not-for profit 501 (C)(6) corporation created to provide education, guidance and communication for local government and for lawyers who advise local government. NHMLA is a membership organization open to NH Municipal Lawyers whose practice is oriented toward representing local government.
CLE seminars and local government education programs are prepared under the guidance of Executive Director, Daniel Crean. Dan has retired from active municipal law practice, and now owns Crean Municipal Consulting Services.
NHMLA is managed by officers and a board of directors:

- Vice-Chair: Jane Taylor, Gardner, Fulton & Waugh
- Secretary/Treasurer: Margaret Byrnes, NHMA
- Directors: Ben Frost, Walter Mitchell, Thomas Mullins, Peter Loughlin, and Judy Silva.
