Welcome to the website of the New Hampshire Municipal Lawyers Association!
NHMLA is a not-for-profit (501(c)(6) corporation whose purposes are to meet the education, communication and service needs of lawyers who represent the interests of local governments in the Granite State. NHMLA also provides education and training programs for local government officials, managers and administrators.
NHMLA is a membership organization limited to attorneys admitted to practice in New Hampshire who are employed in a legal capacity by a New Hampshire local government or who are in private practice, are retained to represent a local government entity, board or commission, and whose practice is consistent with the purpose and goals of the Association.
NHMLA.COM now has information on membership, CLE seminars, educational programs for local officials and administrators, and other contact information. We are now activating "nhmlaconnect" - a members-only communications service to discusse issues and exchange information on current topics - see the Member Resources tab.

Please note that NHMLA's 2015-16 Membership year began on October 1, 2015. Renewal notices have been sent by email, but current members may also renew by sending in a check for dues ($25 each member) with any updated contact information, or the renewal form on the membership info page may be used.
The 2015-16 CLE schedule is well underway. The first seminar, scheduled was held on 9/21/15, and featured nationally known experts, who provided guidance on the proper Use of Letters of Credit to secure performance of land use approval conditions. The second CLE for this reporting law addressed Sign Law After Gilbert & Related Issues (November 12)
In March, NHMLA presented a webinar focused and recent State and United States Supreme Court and First Circuit and NH Federal District Court decisions. Other planned seminars include Developments in Municipal Liability and Immunity (later in 2016). The planned seminar on Animal Control and NH Local Government has now been scheduled for September 22, 2016.
NHMLA co-sponsored the "Legal Track" at the 2015 NH Municipal Association Annual Conference on November 20, 2015 at the Radisson Conference Center in Manchester and will do so again in 2016.
