NHMLA was initially formed in 2004 and formally incorporated as a not-for-profit organization under NH Law in 2009. NHMLA seeks to serve and improve NH Local Government by providing communication and education services and resources for their lawyers, officials, administrators, and employees. NHMLA was granted 501(c)(6) tax exempt status by the IRS in 2014, retroactive to 2012.
NHMLA is a membership organization open to NH attorneys who are employed by or are retained as legal counsel by a local government entity.
Legal Continuing Education seminars are offered by NHMLA in cooperation with Crean Municipal Consulting Services, LLC.
Education and training programs for local governments are provided by NHMLA members and other panelists.
NHMLA is governed by a President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer and Board of Directors. (Please see Membership Information page for listing.) NHMLA's daily operations are administered on a contractual basis by its Executive Director Daniel Crean.
